On the occasion of the 11th stage of the Cupra Padel Tour at the club Pala Day, located at Ponts-de-Ceor a Angers, Melanie Ros, 7th French player, looks back on her beginnings and her objectives in the face of increased competition that continues to progress.
Can you tell us how you discovered padel and when you started playing it?
I started playing padel about six years ago. I started with Setteo, at the Saint-Herblain club, alongside Laura Buteau and Marie Lefebre. We started together, and little by little, I got into the game. Finally, I continued to play with them over time. 7th place in France is my best ranking.
What are your goals for the end of the year?
For me, the main goal is to stay in the top 10. There are many players who train in Spain all year round and the level is very high. My goal is to continue to stay among these girls, who are often younger and very motivated to progress and play padel at a high level.

The Cupra Padel Tour, this is not a first…
This is the second time I'm participating. I was already at the Angers stage last year, where I played with Mélissa Martin. We played some small games with the adults, it was a very good experience. This time, it's at La Pala, and it's the first time I've come here. It's a superb club, with magnificent outdoor facilities. Today, the sun is incredible, it's perfect. There are also very beautiful indoor courts, which really make you want to play. I hope they organize more tournaments here so that we can come back more often.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
