Good news for French women's padel:  Melissa Martin and Steffi Merah  will be present in Kingersheim in two weeks to compete in the  French championships 2025 The two players, regulars on the international circuit, have  finally obtained a wild card from the FFT. 

A special qualification

Initially,  Melissa and Steffi  had planned to go through the  regional championships , a mandatory passage to get a ticket if you are not automatically qualified. But when the deadline comes,  Melissa Martin was injured , which prevented them from defending their chances. The wild card was therefore their last option… and the federation opened the doors to them.

A pair already well-established

This is not an improvised association:  Martin and Merah have already shared the tracks several times this season on the FIP circuit , particularly at the FIP Silver in Bandol. Their shared experience and complementarity could allow them to play spoilsport in a women's table.

An invitation with a special taste for Martin

For  Melissa Martin , this invitation to the French championships has a special flavor. It  partly compensates for the disappointment  of not having received any  wild card for Roland-Garros , where she hoped to participate alongside Camille Sireix. A choice  difficult to accept for the Parisian, despite her good international results. 

With the confirmed presence of  Lea Godallier and Alix Collombon , big favorites for their own succession, the women's table promises to be tough and exciting. But behind, several pairs, including  Merah/Martin , could well try to shake up the hierarchy and offer some nice surprises.
