This marks the end of one of the most stable partnerships on the circuit in recent months.  Guillermo Collado and Pol Hernandez  decided to end their joint venture after the  Paris Major The two Spaniards have already found their new partners and are expected to launch their respective projects at the event.  Rotterdam P2 .

Collado will partner with Enrique Goenaga while Hernández will share the track with the young  Manu Castaño .

A separation after more than a year and a half together

Collado and Hernández had been sharing the track since  more than a year and a half , being among the most consistent pairs on the circuit.

But their recent poor performance at  Mediterranean games A defeat against an Egyptian pair they were expected to beat on paper seems to have accelerated their decision-making. The two players ultimately chose to end their partnership after the Paris Major.

This was an important decision, as their ranking still allowed them to benefit from their accumulated points.

Collado with Goenaga, Hernández chooses Castaño

The two players were quick to bounce back.  Guillermo Collado will now play alongside Enrique Goenaga , the two men being registered together in Rotterdam P2.

A choice that creates a certain gap in the rankings:  Collado is ranked 38th in the world , against the  57th minute for Goenaga .

The same applies to Pol Hernández.  37th in the world  should launch a new project with  Manu Castaño, 58th in the world .

In both cases, we therefore find a difference of approximately  twenty places in the world rankings  between the new partners.

Choices made in a limited market

The timing of this separation certainly raises questions. At this point in the season,  few players are actually available  and the possibilities for rebuilding a competitive pair are limited.

Collado and Hernández thus find themselves with partners ranked lower than themselves, whereas staying together allowed them to retain a significant number of points.

But both players preferred to try something else. And the rankings obviously aren't everything:  Goenaga and Castaño will have the opportunity to show that these new partnerships can work on the track. .

It remains to be seen whether these projects are designed to be long-term or whether they will serve as a transition while waiting for new opportunities.

Initial elements of an answer to  Rotterdam P2 , where the post-Collado/Hernández era will begin.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
