What a week in Madrid! The Spanish capital was the scene of some totally unexpected finals during the  Premier Padel P1 , with the fall of the world number 1s in both tables. An ideal scenario to kick off the  Paris Major  which starts this Monday at Roland-Garros.

Di Nenno / Augsburger, the capital feat

At men's,  Martín Di Nenno  et  Leo Augsburg  have had an incredible run. In only their second tournament together, the Argentinians have successively eliminated  Galan / Chingotto  in quarter,  Lebrón / Stupaczuk  in the semi-finals, then finally the untouchables  Coello / Tapia  finally.

The world number ones had taken a 1-6 lead, but the rest of the match turned in favor of the Argentinian duo, with Di Nenno keeping pace and Augsburger shining in key moments. Final score:  4/6 6/3 6/4 . In tears after his winning smash, Augsburger savored his  first title in Premier Padel , while Di Nenno returned to a coronation awaited for more than a year.

González / Fernández overthrow the queens

In the women's race, the same surprise scenario. The number 1s  Gemma Triay  et  Delfi Brea , leaders of the FIP ranking, were beaten in the final by the Spanish pair  Bea González / Claudia Fernández After a difficult start (3/6), they found the resources to impose their rhythm and reverse the trend:  6 / 1 6 / 4 .

Already victorious in Asunción and Málaga, Bea and Claudia have won their third trophy of the season. A victory with a special flavor for Claudia, a Madrid native, who emphasized after the match: "Winning here, at home, in front of my family and friends, is a unique feeling."

Heading for Paris

From Madrid to Paris, padel crosses two capitals in a few hours. Starting this Monday, the qualifications for the  Paris Major 2025  open on the Roland-Garros courts. The final stages will begin on Tuesday and end on Sunday, with a star-studded field and French players expected on the  Philippe-Chatrier .
