Tapia / Coello et Stupaczuk / Lebrón have validated their ticket for the semi-finals, but nothing was easy, each having to draw on their mental and technical resources to win.
Tapia and Coello, still and always them
Facing Paquito Navarro and Lucas Bergamini, world number 1 experienced ups and downs... but above all, a surgical finish. The match had started with a bang: 3-0 in ten minutes, then 6/2 in a one-sided first set. But as is often the case with Paquito, revolt is never far away.
In the second act, the outsiders hit hard : two breaks ahead, a struggling Tapia, a Bergamini who is finding his form again... and that's it Paquito / Bergamini ahead 4/1, with even a ball to lead 5-1. At 4-5, they will get a set point, but will not be able to convert it.
And that's where everything changes. Like their 2024 season, Tapia and Coello demonstrate their composure and their ability to excel when everything seems to be slipping away from them. Two consecutive breaks, Monumental Arturo Coello, MVP of the match, and a victory 6 / 2 7 / 5 which propels them into the last four.
In the second set, Paquito Navarro and Lucas Bergamini have truly put Tapia and Coello on the ropesThe Sevillian brought out the heavy artillery, chaining the crazy vibras and making physical effort on each point. His body language spoke for him : focused, smiling, relaxed… Paquito was on fire, and everything seemed to be going well for him.
By his side, Lucas Bergamini fulfilled his role perfectly, playing the baseline metronome, calming things down when necessary and restarting the exchanges with great accuracy. Their chemistry in this second set almost upset the world number 1s.

Stupa and Lebrón, stronger than ever
On their side, Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebrón had to fight for three intense sets salary. Momo Gonzalez and Jon Sanz. These latter started the first two sets with a 3-0 lead, showing remarkable aggression and level of play. But as is often the case, against them, experience finally spoke.
In the first set, Stupa and Lebrón turn the tide to win 6/4. In the second, Momo and Jon don't let themselves be pushed around and break the rhythm to equalize at one set all (6/3), with a restored mentality.
But in the last round, the “Lobo” and Stupa take the advantage at the right time: break at 2/1, solidity in their serve, and a final victory 6/4 3/6 6/3 which also propels them into the semi-finals.
Special mention to Franco Stupaczuk, with impressive consistency since the start of the season. Few mistakes, aggressive play in key moments and an ability to raise his level in decisive phases make him one of the strong men of this Miami P1.
Dream semi-final: Tapia / Coello vs Lebrón / Stupaczuk
The two in-form pairs will now face off in semi final for duel of titans. Coello and Tapia, although struggling in some phases, have still not lost a set in this tournament, and their duo still seems unpredictable: if one slows down, the other takes over.
More watch out for Lebrón and Stupa, recent winners in Cancun, who also seem to be gaining momentum. With their mental strength and complementarity, They are ready to do anything to shake up the hierarchy.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
