Thunderclap in Miami! After almost a year of invincibility in P1 category tournaments, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia fell in the semi-finals of the Miami P1, beaten with authority by Juan Lebrón and Franco Stupaczuk on the score of 6 / 4 6 / 4An impressive victory for the Spanish-Argentine pair, who reached his third consecutive final this season.
A controlled victory from start to finish
From the first games, Stupa and Lebrón took control. Very aggressive in transitions and with a clear strategy, aim for Tapia, hampered by an injury to his right hand, the men of Carlos Pozzoni executed their plan perfectly. The pair took advantage of a timid start from Coello / Tapia to take the break from the start. Despite a comeback from the number 1s in the score, the outsiders regain the upper hand and take the first set 6/4.
In the second set, both pairs quickly exchange breaks, but again, the precision of the lobs on Tapia and the speed of execution of Lebrón / Stupa in the hot moments make the difference. At 4/4, Coello and Tapia crack once again on their serve, and the number 3 do not tremble at the moment of conclude the meeting on their service.

Tapia embarrassed, Coello frustrated
The match was marked by the visible frustration in the number 1 camp. Tapia, physically diminished, himself acknowledged it on the bench: "If you think about yourself, you help me, because everyone knows I play badly.", he confides to Coello, visibly annoyed. Their coach Gustavo Pratto tries to reframe them: "Enough, enough!", but the negative spiral is launched.
In the exchanges, Coello tries to compensate, but the machine seems to be seized up, far from their usual performance. Result: first defeat before a final since May 2024 for the “Golden Boys”.
An unprecedented final: Galán vs Lebrón
This victory marks Juan Lebrón's return to the top, who will face Ale Galán in the final for the first time since their separation. A delicious match between two former partners, each now well supported: Lebrón with Stupa, Galán with ChingottoBoth pairs are in great shape and play high-level padel.
Lebron and Stupaczuk, after their title in Cancun, will try to win a second trophy this season, confirming their status as real alternative to the two dominant pairs on the circuit. With this victory, they break the Coello / Tapia – Galán / Chingotto duopoly, giving padel a more open, more unpredictable flavor.
Miami, turning point of the season?
The public of the Miami Beach Convention Center, where even Carlos Alcaraz made the trip, attended a semi-final of great intensity. And tomorrow, it's a unprecedented and promising finale which will be played on the blue carpet between two pairs ready to give it their all.
A clear message: From now on, we will have to take into account Stupa and Lebrón.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
