The women's final  Miami Premier Padel P1 2026  It was intense, long, and unpredictable. But beyond the level of play, a rather rare moment marked the turning point of the match.

A seemingly insignificant point on paper. But one that, in the end, may have changed the entire outcome of the match.

At 6-5 in the third set, everything could have changed.

We are in the  third set , score  6/5 for Bea González / Paula Josemaría The Spanish women are serving for the match.

The pressure is at its maximum. Opposite,  Gemma Triay / Delfi Brea  are still alive. And the game is off to a bad start for number 2:  0-30 .

At that moment, the final can completely turn around.

Bea González is hiring.

A completely crazy situation is unfolding.

Regarding the service,  Delfi Brea  returns a very short ball, almost a gift.  Paula Josemaría  arrives at the net with an ideal opportunity to finish.

But then, a surprise.

ELLE  completely misses his shot A smash that was well within his reach. The point seems lost. The scenario appears clear:  0-40 , three break points for Triay and Brea, and a real chance to get back to 6/6.

Except that, at the same time,  Delfi Brea stops .

She raises her hand, looks at the referee and asks for the  video .

Why? Because she believes that the  Bea González's serve is a fault , deemed too high at the time of the strike.

 A choice that changes everything

Problem: when stopping,  Delfi Brea interrupts the point … even though she was winning it, since Paula Josemaría's fault seemed obvious.

She therefore has no other choice but to use video.

The matter is then suspended. Everyone is waiting for the decision.

And then, a complete turnaround.

A video that completely reverses the scenario

After verification, the decision is made:
Bea González's service is absolutely good. .

Immediate consequence: the point is awarded to  Bea González / Paula Josemaría .

A point they had clearly lost on the field… but which they regained by referee's decision.

Score :  15-30 instead of 0-40 .

A huge gap at that point in the match.

A turning point in the final

The impact behind it is immediate.

Instead of facing  three break points  and to see the set potentially heading towards a tie-break.  Bea and Paula  remain alive in their service game.

Better still, they regain the mental upper hand.

They continue their momentum, win the game, and therefore the set.  7/5 , and therefore the match.

In a matter of seconds, the final turned around.

A rare action… and one with serious consequences

This type of situation remains extremely rare at this level.

A player who  interrupts a point she is winning , to request a video… and who ultimately ends up losing that point, it's almost unheard of at such a crucial moment.

But beyond the unusual aspect, it is above all the impact that stands out.

Without this video request:

  •  0-40 for Triay / Brea
  • Three breakaway opportunities
  • A high probability of a tie-break
  • And potentially a completely different ending to the match

Instead, the point goes to No. 2… who then follow up with another goal.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
