Despite the  open war between players, Premier Padel and the FIP , the show did take place this week at  Miami P1 , the first tournament in the history of the circuit organized on American soil. In a tense climate, padel resumed its rights to offer a week of very high level in an electric atmosphere at  Miami Beach Convention Center , in front of a captivated audience and luxury guests such as  Carlos Alcaraz ,  Thiago Alcantara  or,  Paul Pogba .

Galán and Chingotto rediscover the taste for the title

Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto  have won  their first title of the year , 259 days after their last victory in Genoa. Ultra solid throughout the tournament, they did not concede  only one set  and delivered an impeccable final against  Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebrón  (6/1 7/6).

Galán, particularly inspired, spearheaded the pair with aggressive play and constant initiative.  Chingotto , for his part, completely dominated his duel against Lebrón, who was visibly tense with the stakes. This victory gives momentum to the Spanish-Argentine pair after a difficult end to 2024.

Triay and Brea on their way to the throne

In women,  Gemma Triay and Delfina Brea  have once again taken over the  world number 1 ,  Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría , winning 2/6 6/1 6/4. As in Gijón, they reversed a bad situation thanks to an impressive rise in power.

It's the  third consecutive title  for the pair formed at the beginning of the year, and especially  their first P1  after the coronations at  Gijon P2  et  Cancun P2 . With 8 consecutive victories and a sparkling level of play,  Triay and Brea are getting seriously close to the world number 1 spot .

Tapia and Coello fall after 324 days of invincibility in the semi-finals

The Miami P1 was also the scene of a small event:  Tapia and Coello , who remained on  324 days without defeat before the final of a P1 , fell in the semi-final against  Lebron and Stupaczuk  (6/4 6/4). Physically diminished,  Agustín Tapia  struggled to make an impact in the exchanges, leaving Coello alone against a confident pair.

This  first defeat in the semi-final  since May 2024 shows that the 2025 season will not be as linear for the “Golden Boys”, now seriously challenged.

A turning point for Premier Padel ?

Beyond sporting performances, this  first tournament Premier Padel in the USA  marks an important step in the circuit's international expansion strategy. Despite institutional tensions, the best players responded,  offering a very high-level show  in a packed room.

Miami was a complete success, on and off the courts. Padel is alive and well, and the battle for the men's and women's thrones  has never been so open .

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
