If there is one thing that Miguel Lamperti masters as well as his famous smash, it is the art of spotting talent. And after more than 30 years spent on the circuits, the Argentinian player knows a prodigy when he sees one. It is therefore no surprise that he quickly saw the potential ofArturo Coello, today one of the most prominent faces in world padel.

In an interview with Padel Review, the native of Bahía Blanca confided in his first meeting with the young Spaniard from Valladolid :

“Arturo is a killing machine. As soon as I met him, he told me he was going to be number one. On the one hand, I didn't like it, but on the other, I was impressed. When I went to Valladolid with him, he played padel, then ate, then went to the gym. When you see someone with such clear goals and willing to do anything to achieve them, the results are quick to come.”

Their 24-year age difference and blend of experience and freshness made them an explosive duo., in 2021, on the different stages of the World Padel Tour.

For Lamperti, Coello's success goes far beyond natural talent:

“Of course, Agustín (Tapia) has a magic wand, and he doesn't. But today, for me, the most decisive player in world padel is undoubtedly Arturo.”

The two men began their joint adventure at the start of the 2021 season, an explosive duo that offered the public great afternoons of padel and a great bond on the court.

Even though, a few months later, Arturo received a call from Bela, marking a decisive turning point in his career, Miguel Lamperti has fond memories of this period: the one where he saw the future world number one born before his eyes.
