Milan Premier Padel P1 : Momo González continues his romance with Italy by reaching the semi-finals of the tournament alongside Eduardo Alonso . Facing them, the essentials Arturo Coello et Agustín Tapia , dominant this season, will try to maintain their impressive series of victories. A confrontation to follow in the unique atmosphere of the Allianz Cloud .
Momo González and Italy: a story that continues
Le Milan Premier Padel P1 offers a new opportunity to Jéronimo González , said Momo, to shine on the Italian courts. A year after a memorable quarter-final at the Allianz Cloud , lost to Arturo Coello et Agustín Tapia in duet with Javi Garrido , the Spanish player returns with an even stronger run in 2024.
His season was marked by notable successes in Italy, including a victory at the FIP Platinum of Cagliari , followed by a gold medal at the FIP European Championships in Sardinia. It is also in Italy that his association with Eduardo Alonso was born. Since their formation, the two players have distinguished themselves with regular performances: semi-finals at Premier Padel P2 from Finland and Egypt in NewGiza , before reaching their first semi-final in a P1 in Milan .
In their last match, a retirement of Franco Stupaczuk et mike yanguas , following an injury to the Argentine, allowed González and Alonso to reach the semi-finals. They will face Coello et Wall , offering Momo a new opportunity to strengthen his special bond with Italian fans.
"I have a good feeling with the Italian public and with this country," Momo confides. "Every time I play here, I mark the date on my calendar. The atmosphere on the center court is unique, whether it's against Galan and Lebron two years ago or against Coello and Tapia last year. I hope to go even further in this tournament."
Coello and Tapia: an impressive series
If González and Alonso embody the novelty at the top of the table, Coello et Wall continue to dominate the world stage. With 13 tracks this season and a series of 43 consecutive wins , the pair remains a reference. Their last defeat dates back to July 7 , during the final of Genoa P2 Facing Fede Chingotto et Ale Galán (6-1/6-1).
In Milan, like a week earlier in Mexico, Coello and Tapia had to fight to win in three sets against Paquito Navarro et paul cardona (7-5 / 4-6 / 6-3). This match, played in 2:08 , highlighted the resilience of the Spaniards, despite several opportunities seized by their opponents, particularly at the start of the first and second sets.
For Paquito, this week was also marked by a strong emotional charge, after the death of his mother. After the match, he took the time to thank the Milanese fans for their support, accompanied by his father who, from the stands, found strength in this communion with the public and his son.
