Fernando Belasteguín plays his last professional tournament at Milan Premier Padel P1, while the race for the last places for the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Finals intensifies. Between emotion and fierce competition, the show is there.

The Boss hasn't said his last word!

Fernando Belasteguín, nicknamed “the Boss”, has had a year marked by farewells and emotional tributes. But this time, it all came down to one match. His retirement from professional padel depended on a single result.

The weight of the stakes was palpable from the first exchanges, with a start marked by a certain nervousness for the Argentinian duo. Bela/LibaakDespite this, they managed to master the storm and take the lead in the first set thanks to a decisive break at 5-4, before concluding on their serve.

In the second set, the situation became more complicated. The brothers DEUS took the lead with a 3-0, then 4-1 advantage. But Bela and Tino Libaak, refusing to give in, came back from behind to equalize at 4-4. Once again, at the critical moment, they made a break to lead 5-4 and conclude the match on their serve.

“I enjoy every moment”, Belasteguín said after the victory. “Tino has given me two and a half extraordinary months, both on and off the pitch. No matter what happens, even if today was my last match, I am at peace. I gave it my all.”

A frantic race towards the Finals

Beyond the emotion of Belasteguín's farewell, another issue is animating the tournament: the race for the last places for the Premier Padel FinalsIn both the men's and women's draws, no pair engaged in this battle has faltered, promising decisive clashes in the days to come.

In the men's category: big suspense
Pablo Cardona: A victory this Thursday brings him closer to qualification.
Sanyo Gutierrez: His destiny depends on the duel between Alex Ruiz et Alex Arroyo à Momo González et Eduardo Alonso.
Lucas Bergamini: Must beat Bela and Libaak to hope to enter the top 16, but this remains conditional on a defeat for Ruiz-Arroyo.
The Alex: A Cardona loss would benefit them, while Arroyo could move up in the race if Bergamini also loses.

In the women's category: three players in the running
Aranzazu Osoro, Alejandra Alonso et Tamara Icardo : The three contenders advance, maintaining the suspense for the last qualifying place.

Favorites under pressure
The third day of Milan Premier Padel P1 did not hold any major surprises. The top seeds all held their own, but some were pushed to their limits:
Jon Sanz and Coki Nieto (6): A victory in three sets against Belluati/Torre.
Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez: A difficult encounter against the promising duo Eugenio/Fassio.
