The International Federation of Padel (FIP) has updated its ranking after the holding of the Gijón P2, the first tournament Premier Padel in Spain. The absence of the men's Top 100 and the active participation of players outside the top 100 have led to significant movements in the rankings. Here is an overview of the main changes.
Men's ranking: stability at the top, upheavals at the bottom of the table
The Top 10 remains relatively stable with Agustín Tapia et Arturo Coello still in the lead with 19 980 points, followed by Alejandro Galán (12 points) and Federico Chingotto (12 points). However, some adjustments should be noted:
- Martín Di Nenno (6th, 7 points) and Miguel Yanguas (970th, 7 points) each gain a place, pushing back Juan Lebrón (8th, 7 points).
- Curro Cabeza (68th) and Diego García (83rd) make spectacular leaps, winning respectively 108 and 139 seats.
- Gonzalo Alfonso (71st) and Tolito Aguirre (85th), unfortunate finalists of Gijón P2, climb respectively from 52 and 46 seats.
These increases are explained by the non-participation of the best players in Gijón P2.
However, with the surprise participation of Lebron/Stupa in Cancun P2, we might be in for a change, even though Stupa has already announced that he is willing to give up the points he won in Mexico.
Women's ranking: notable changes in the Top 10
In the women's category, Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría retain their number 1 spot with 16 510 points. However, Gemma Triay takes back 3rd place at Claudia Fernández, which falls back to 4th position. Other notable movements:
- Lucia Sainz (10th) wins a place at the expense of Claudia Jensen (13th), which lost three positions.
- Andrea Ustero (11th) achieves the best progression in the top of the ranking with a rise of three seater.
- Lorena Rufo (21st) and Carmen Goenaga (22nd) advance in the ranking, while Marina Guinart (24th) recorded a slight decrease.
- Alix Collombon (30th) remains in the Top 30 despite a defeat in the 16th with Araceli Martinez
It will be interesting to follow the evolution of the players' performances in the upcoming tournaments. New boycott expected at Cancun P2 could also shake up the rankings once again.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
