Padel Magazine had the opportunity to speak with Kevin Chomier, one of the main promoters of the project Padel Street in Val-d’Oise, a promising club which is already attracting strong interest and which could see the light of day in the second half of 2024.
Padel Magazine : To begin, can you explain to us what is Padel Street?
Kevin Chomier: Padel Street is a club creation project dedicated to Padel in Val-d’Oise. The idea was born from the frustration of many local players. Currently, indoors, Val-d’Oise only has three courts. Our goal is to create a club that meets the needs of a growing community.
PM: What is the main objective of this project?
KC: We first had to overcome the difficulty of finding a suitable warehouse. Most landlords were unaware of the Padel and were skeptical about its viability. Our strategy therefore consists of building a strong community on social networks and pre-selling annual subscriptions to prove the viability of the project.
PM: Can you tell us more about the club itself?
KC: We envision a space large enough for optimal comfort, including a bar, lounge, warm-up area, and panoramic fields equipped with cameras and scorers. The involvement of members will be key in decisions relating to the operation of the club, particularly for extended access hours.
PM: What are the next steps for Padel Street?
KC: We want to increase our presence on social networks. We launched an Instagram account and a website to reach future players. The next step will be the sale of annual subscriptions via crowdfunding. The objective is to bring together enough members to open this new structure dedicated to Padel.
PM: What are your wishes for this end of the year?
KC: We hope to quickly build a strong community. Once a sufficient number of subscriptions are pre-sold, we will be able to look for the ideal warehouse, with increased credibility with lessors.
PM: One last word ?
KC: We invite all 95 players to follow us and share our project. This club belongs to all fans of Padel from 95.
