Padel is not football. In this sport, the coaches occupy a very special place, sometimes even acclaimed by their players with real declarations of love. This unique proximity comes from the central role they play within the pairs, a bond that few other disciplines can offer. If it is often said that padel is a sport that is played by two, at the professional level, the importance of the coach, present on the bench at each match, is primordial. He is often the one who can tip the balance at decisive moments.
For Momo González, author of a remarkable second half of the season Alongside Edu Alonso, the words are unequivocal when he talks about his coach Gaby Reca: " Gaby is the person I confided in all of the world. Lo quiero as my second father. » (Gaby is the person who trusts me the most in the whole world. I love her like a second father).
Although his association with Edu Alonso is now over, Momo could continue the adventure with Gaby Reca for the 2025 season.
For his part, Juan Lebrón has had a tumultuous 2024, marked by numerous controversies. However, his association with Martín Di Nenno during the second half of the season was a lifesaver, allowing him to regain a certain confidence despite sometimes mixed performances on the left. But another figure played a key role in its recovery: Agustin Silingo, a recent retiree and now a coach, who is particularly respected by the Spaniard. Lebrón is full of praise for him:
“Silingo is a great, a phenomenon, he left a big impression on me. If we had to train at one o'clock, he was there. If I wanted to talk, he was there, 100%. He is an incredible person, a number 1 on and off the field. He will become an excellent coach. I will miss him."
Padel, much more than a sport, also offers exceptional human adventures. The year 2024 will be remembered not only for sporting achievements, but also for those unique stories that transcend the game.
