This Saturday, September 28, Lyon will host the largest national gathering of the year for deaf padel, a major event awaited by the entire community. It is at the club Mind Padel, an ultramodern complex created by the famous tennis player Alizée Cornet and her brother Sébastien, where this major competition will be held.
With its 8 covered and air-conditioned courts, Mind Padel offers an ideal setting for a day full of performance and conviviality.
On the competition side, close to 80 participants will compete to win the title in their respective categories:
- 12 teams en P250 Men
- 16 teams en P100 Men
- 8 to 12 teams en P100 Women
The Lyon Deaf Sports Association (ASSLyon) is at work on this gathering with Anthony Noguera.
Deaf padel is structured around two level categories, A and B. For this large-scale event, the teams will be made up of mixed pairs from these two categories in order to ensure a balanced and homogeneous competition.
Maxime Sanchez, European vice-champion and French number 1 in deaf padel, will be present to mark the event. As a bonus, he will inaugurate his partnership with his new equipment supplier, Ace One, a French brand that actively supports the development of padel. Ace One will also have a stand on site, reinforcing its commitment to the sports community in an inclusive way.
