Le Premier Padel made a stopover this week in Egypt for the Newgiza P2, the last tournament in this category in 2025. But this stage will be marked by several significant absences, starting with those of world n°1 Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, who have chosen to take a break to catch your breath after a stifling season.
A masculine painting as open as ever
The absence of the duo Coello / Tapia redistributes the cards: Galan and Chingotto become the big favorites of the tournament. Seeded number 1, they will open against Sanyo Gutierrez and Gonzalo Alfonso, a tricky duel to start. In case of victory, an explosive quarter could pit them against Di Nenno and Augsburger.
Behind them, Stupaczuk and Lebrón, inherit the status of seed n ° 2They will start their tournament against David Gala and Pablo García, before a possible quarter against Leal and Bergamini.
La seed n ° 3, Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas, will start against the Egyptian wild cards Georges Wakim and Youssef Hossam. At last, Paquito Navarro and Jon Sanz (n°4) will open against Tino Libaak and Jairo Bautista, a first round which promises to be very intense.
Among the outsiders, we will also be watching Momo Gonzalez and Fran Guerrero, capable of challenging the Top 4, or even Campagnolo / Garrido et Tello / Alonso.
If the logic of the ranking is respected, the last four could offer two XXL posters:
- Chingotto/Galán vs Yanguas/Nieto
- Stupaczuk/Lebrón vs. Sanz/Navarro

In the women's race, Triay and Brea are looking for confirmation
The women's tournament will be played without Bea González and Claudia Fernández, absent at the last minute, which is all the more surprising since the pair were initially among those registered. In their absence, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea are the huge favorites. Exempt from the first round, they will potentially face Ale Salazar and Martina Calvo in the quarter-finals, in a match with a hint of revenge.
Behind them, Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría (seeded number 2) will aim for another title after Milan. They could meet Guinart and Virseda from the quarter-finals, before a possible clash against Ustero and Araújo in the semifinals.
La seed n ° 4, Marta Ortega and Tamara Icardo, should face Jensen and Alonso in the quarter-finals, in a promising duel between two very consistent pairs.
The women's table could also offer two dream semi-finals :
- Icardo/Ortega vs Brea/Triay
- Sánchez / Josemaría vs Araújo / Ustero
French women in the running
Two French women will be in action in Newgiza.
Alix Collombon begins his new association with Jana MontesFacing Luján and ManquilloA balanced match on paper, which could allow him to launch this collaboration on a good basis, before a potential clash against Triay / Brea in eighths.
For its part, Léa Godallier, associated with Giorgia Marchetti, will face the local wild card El Nimr / Hakim in the first round. A match largely within their reach before a formidable eighth against Marta Ortega and Tamara Icardo, seeded No. 4.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
