There are results that weigh heavily in a season.  Newgiza P2 in Egypt , the defeat of  Juan Lebrón / Leo Augsburger eliminated as soon as  round of 8 , clearly falls into this category. Opposed to  Enzo Jensen Sirvent / Luis Hernández Quesada Having come through qualifying, the favorites lost in three sets:  7/6 3/6 6/0 .

A significant defeat, both in terms of the scenario and the signals it sends.

A tie-break that sets the stage for an upset

The start of the match was tight. But in the key moments,  Jensen Sirvent / Hernández Quesada  make the difference.

In one  mastered tie-break they quickly set sail ( 6/0 before concluding  7/2 . A first warning for the 3rd seeded team, already under pressure from a pair without any hang-ups.

Jensen Sirvent / Hernández Quesada

A reaction… then a clean break

The second set saw the expected reaction from  Lebrón / Augsburger , which equalize  6/3 .

But the third set takes on a completely different dimension.

The numbers speak for themselves:

  •  81% of points won
  •  86% of points earned on serve
  •  76% of the points earned in return
  • A series of  16 consecutive points

Result: a  6/0 brutal .

Jensen as conductor

In this match,  Enzo Jensen Sirvent  weighed particularly heavily. His ability to  vary the angles in  break the rhythm  and dictating the exchange completely disorganized the opposing pair.

With  Luis Hernandez Quesada The duo displayed impressive tactical and mental mastery for a team that came through the qualifiers.

Their performance confirms their momentum. After getting through the qualifiers, they followed up with a landmark victory against the  seeded 3  to rise to  quarter-finals .

In the next round, they will face  Juan Tello / Eduardo Alonso They too were shaken up.

In the round of 16, they had to work hard against the French.  Johan Bergeron / Timéo Fonteny , with a hard-fought victory  6/1 5/7 6/1 A performance that was far from reassuring.

A defeat that raises questions about the future of the pair

Beyond the result, a question begins to emerge:  Could this defeat weaken the Lebrón/Augsburger project?

The contrast is striking. After leveling the score, the pair completely collapsed in the decisive set, offering no response to the opponent's dominance.

Doubt inevitably sets in.

Especially since the schedule remains busy: the pair is  registered in Brussels, Asunción and Argentina  in the coming weeks. But after such a release, the project's continuity could be closely monitored.

A turning point in the tournament… and perhaps beyond

This elimination in the round of 8 reshuffles the cards of the  Newgiza P2 , while leaving some uncertainty surrounding the evolution of the pair.

Conversely,  Jensen Sirvent / Hernández Quesada  have established themselves as one of the sensations of the tournament, now capable of aiming higher.

In an already turbulent situation, this encounter could well leave lasting marks.
