In the microcosm of the professional circuit, the affair is causing a lot of talk. Indeed, if Libaak (very discreet for the moment) and Augsburger (who officially announced the end of the collaboration with Nox) showed up in Egypt without their equipment NOX, which constitutes, according to the Spanish brand, a violation of their contract.

NOX announces that Valentino Gabriel Libaak et Leandro Roman Augsburger are under contract with the brand until 2027. Despite an adjustment of their salary conditions based on their 2023 ranking of the World Padel Tour, players recently breached their contract by not using equipment provided by NOX, a condition clearly stipulated in the agreement. NOX attributes this violation to bad advice received by players and is taking steps to protect its interests.

Here is the French translation of the press release from NOX :

“NOX would like to inform that to date, players Valentino Gabriel Libaak et Leandro Roman Augsburger have current contracts with our brand, with the following details:

  • Valentino Gabriel Libaak signed its contract with NOX on August 16, 2022, with a term extending until August 16, 2027.
  • Leandro Roman Augsburger signed his contract on September 15, 2022, with validity until September 15, 2027.

Meanwhile, NOX has maintained an absolute commitment to the personal and athletic growth of both athletes, including their residency at our high-performance sports academy located in Spain (Nox Future Academy) for several months. In addition, NOX, in good faith, has maintained for 2024 the salary conditions of the players according to their ranking World Padel Tour 2023, despite the change of circuit (ranking FIP), which represented a significant disadvantage for them. This adjustment was not mandatory under the terms of the agreement.

Unfortunately, yesterday there was a breach of contract by the players, who did not use the equipment provided by the brand, a condition clearly stipulated in the signed terms. After careful examination, we believe that the cause of this situation is the bad advice that the players received from their close entourage.

We deeply regret that Tino et Leo have been affected by these external influences, which clearly do not take into account their best interests or their professional development.

At NOX, we will continue to take the necessary measures to protect the interests of our brand and to maintain our commitment to the values that represent us, including the honor of the agreements signed, as a leading brand in sports.”
