Lucile Pothier and Louise Bahurel  have launched their tournament perfectly at  FIP Silver Côte du Midi  in Narbonne, by winning seriously and authoritatively against the Spanish pair, Cano / Medio (6/1 6/0). A clear victory, marked by constant domination and solid play, which opens the doors to a  very high-level round of 16 .

A controlled introduction

Back in official competition after a few months of absence,  Lucile Pothier  did not hide his pleasure at returning to the field alongside his partner.

“We played a very good match. For me, it was a comeback, so we told ourselves we had to be serious from the start, to set our game. It was a real pleasure to come back with Louise.”

For its part,  Louise Bahurel  stood out for its power, particularly in smashes.

“I was a little tense at first, but after three games, things started to flow well. The conditions are perfect for me: it comes out well but it's still slow enough to be able to defend.”

An obvious complicity

The duo seems to work well, despite their different personal backgrounds.  Lucile , who plays less regularly on the international circuit, is enjoying this dynamic.

“I feel like I'm going to cry, but I'm not! More seriously, it's true that when you play like that, with perfect harmony on the pitch, it makes you want to do more. We'll see what happens next, maybe in 2026…”

 Louise , very enthusiastic, does not hide her pleasure at evolving with her elder:
“Lulu’s return is an honor for me to be the chosen one. We had a great time.”

Objective: To bring down the number 2 seed

In the round of 16, the two French women will have their work cut out for them against the formidable pair  Sharifova / Rodriguez , classified in the  world top 50 A major challenge that the duo tackles without hesitation.

“We’re going to try to win, we’re not here to string beads,” smiles Louise.
"We're here to play, to play our game, to be aggressive, and why not create a surprise. If we lose, we lose, but we want to scare them."

Lucile agrees:
“We'll have to be solid and play to Louise's strengths, especially her par 3s. We'll hit hard and be aggressive. The goal is clear: to win.”
