The meeting started with a bang for the Normans, who managed to break from the start. Unfortunately, they could not confirm this advantage and gradually suffered from the power of Mannarino. On the field, the 19th French player was much more decisive, allowing his team to go ahead and consolidate their domination at the end of the set, won 6/3.
In the second set, the Durieux / Paumard pair started well again, making the number 1 seed doubtful. They obtained four break points at 2/1 in their favor, but were unable to make any of them. The Normans then collapsed mentally, conceding eleven consecutive points to find themselves trailing 5/2, double break.
