Having already produced solid performances in their previous tournaments together, the two players this time found the right formula to go for their first joint title, thanks to a convincing victory in the final against Paul Dornberger et Guillaume Ledrap : 6 / 1 6 / 4.
A build-up throughout the weekend
Their journey to the title was not a long, quiet river. quarterfinal, they overcame the pair Crane / Fabre in a close match (7/6 4/6 6/4), before making a superb comeback in semi final face Dumoulin / CouturierTrailing 6/1, Forichon and Fouré reversed the trend to finally win. 1/6 7/6 6/3.
In the final, they delivered their most controlled match of the tournament. Facing Dornberger and Ledrap, semi-finalists of Garcia / Gortzounian At the end of an intense three-set match, the Forichon/Fouré pair imposed their game. A quick first set (6/1), followed by a second, better contested but perfectly managed (6/4), allows them to conclude a tournament won with panache.
An expected victory, a confirmed progression
This was the third tournament together for Paul Forichon and Lilian Fouré. After frustrating defeats against solid pairs, Lozano / Perez Le Tiec at P1500 in Bordeaux, then Groll / Garcia At the P2000 in Lyon, the two players were able to capitalize on their shared experience to reach a new level.
To Paul Forichon, it is also about his second P1000 title this year, after the one played in January alongside Charles Gortzounian à Padel Campus Arena, his club.
