Four  P1000  were on the agenda this weekend at  Narbonne, Lacanau, Allauch and Valenciennes And one observation clearly emerges:  No number 1 seed managed to win. .

Each time, the hierarchy was shaken up, with outsiders capable of going all the way and several particularly close finals.

Silk Sets Padel Narbonne: Boronad/Barthe at the end of a weekend of battles

In Narbonne,  Yoan Boronad / Théo Barthe (TS3)  eventually won the title.

Their journey, however, was anything but smooth. Before the final, the two players had to compete  three matches in three sets , including a completely crazy semi-final against  Victor Deligne / David Soleirol .

Boronad / Barthe had saved  a match ball  before turning the game around  6/3 3/6 7/5 .

In the final, they found  Thomas Messina / Mattis Perrot (TS4) After going down 0-2 early on, the home team quickly responded to take the first set, before closing out the second in a tie-break:  6 / 4 7 / 6 .

A special title for  Théo Barthe , manager of the Set Padel Narbonne, while the club was celebrating its third anniversary, but also for  Yoan Boronad who had just celebrated his 19th birthday.

La  TS1 Cancel / Cazaban She, however, had been eliminated in the quarter-finals.

Twins Padel Lacanau: Vignat / Dammak take down TS2 then TS1

The biggest surprise of the weekend may have come from Lacanau.

Grégoire Vignat / Mohamed Malek Dammak (TS4)  have had a superb tournament to clinch the title.

After winning the quarter-final  6 / 2 7 / 5 They made a strong statement in the semi-final by dominating  Elie Sarrat / Thomas Cazes Carrere (TS2) 6/2 6/2 .

But the biggest part was yet to come.

In the final, they faced the favorites  Robin Roux / Julien Motz (TS1) After a tremendous battle, Vignat and Dammak emerged victorious.  7/5 6/7 7/6 .

A title acquired by successively defeating the  seeds 2 and 1 .

LB13 Allauch: Vial / Tullou save a match point and overturn the TS1

Another totally crazy final on the side of the  P1000 LB13 Allauch .

Romain Vial / Benjamin Tullou (TS2)  managed to bring down  Tristan Piombo / Nicolas Molinero (TS1)  after three sets:  6/7 7/5 7/5 .

Piombo/Molinero had the opportunity to finish, but Vial/Tullou  saved a match point  before completely turning the final on its head.

They thus secure their  first P1000 together , once again at the expense of the number 1 seed.

TSB Valenciennes: Fontaine/Synaeghel stop the Briez/Païs upset

In the ladies,  Marine Fontaine / Lauren Synaeghel (TS4)  have established themselves at  P1000 TSB Valenciennes .

In the final, they stopped the very impressive run of  Sophie Briez / Ilyana Païs , with a victory  7 / 6 6 / 3 .

Briez/Païs had, however, been the tournament's biggest revelations. They had emerged  Stéphanie Weil / Laura Robineau (TS1)  in the quarterfinals, before very clearly eliminating  Alicia Keppenne / Mathilde Mattei (TS3) 6/2 6/2  in the semifinals.

But in the final, Fontaine / Synaeghel were stronger in the important moments.

This success offers a  Lauren Synaeghel's first P1000 title , While  Marine Fontaine secures her second of the season .

No TS1s were crowned champions this weekend.

Ultimately, that's the main lesson from these four P1000s.

À  Narbonne TS1 falls in the quarter-finals.
À  Lacanau She loses in the final.
À  Allauch She also lost in the final.
À  Valenciennes She was eliminated in the quarterfinals.

Result:  no number 1 seed wins the title .

A weekend clearly marked by surprises, big fights and outsiders capable of knocking the favorites out until the very end.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
