Mathis Dupont Brimbeuf and Gautier Boutel had to draw on their resources to overcome Lucas Pillon and Elio Sarrat in the final of P1000 Breizh Padel. Victory in three sets 7/5 2/6 7/5, after an intense fight where the young opponents almost created a surprise.
A solid first set from the favourites
From the start, Dupont Brimbeuf and Boutel impose their rhythm. Few direct errors, a lot of aggression and good control of exchanges allow them to gain the upper hand over Pillon and Sarrat. The latter, less accurate at the start of the match, concede the first set 7/5 after an already very hard-fought fight.
Sarrat and Pillon in revolt mode
The second set starts with a great opportunity for Dupont Brimbeuf / Boutel, who obtain three break points in the first game. Pillon and Sarrat save them and, in the process, break immediately. Behind, they roll out and leave no chance to their opponents. More explosive, more precise and intractable in defense, they equalized at one set each with a convincing 6/2.
A tense outcome
The last set is a real arm wrestling, each team keeping their commitment without offering the slightest opportunity. Lots of intensity, tension and tight exchanges, making the outcome uncertain until 5/5Where Dupont Brimbeuf and Boutel finally find the opening to break at the best moment.
Pillon and Sarrat save a match point in spectacular fashion, but end up giving in on the next game. Dupont Brimbeuf and Boutel win 7/5 2/6 7/5.

A promising performance from the young finalists
Si Dupont Brimbeuf and Boutel confirm their status as favourites in this final, Élio Sarrat (19 years old) and Lucas Pillon (17 years old) displayed a very good level of play. A very encouraging performance for these two young players, who will be ones to watch closely in the upcoming competitions!

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
