Le  P1000 Central Sport Club of Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle  delivered its verdict this Sunday morning. After two very close semi-finals, it was finally the  2nd seed Iznasi / Rubio  and the  4th seed Durban / Brechemier  who will meet in the final.

Rubio and Iznasi enforce the hierarchy

Facing the third seed, composed of the local team  Julen Fabas  and his Bordeaux partner  Elio Sarrat Iznasi and Rubio had to work hard to secure their place in the final.

The score perfectly reflects the nature of the match: an extremely close encounter where every point counted.

Statistics also illustrate this balance. Both teams won exactly  70 points each This proves that the difference came down to a few details.

These details turned in favor of the second seed, who were more clinical in key moments. Rubio and Iznasi converted.  3 of their 4 break points , while their opponents only converted  2 of their 8 opportunities .

Another key factor: the management of unforced errors. The favorites were cleaner with  21 unforced errors against 26  for Fabas and Sarrat.

In a very close match, Rubio and Iznasi were able to make the difference when it really mattered to secure their ticket to the final.

Durban and Brechemier at the end of the suspense

The other semi-final offered a real thriller to the spectators at the Central Sport Club.

Opposed to  Lefevre / Chouchaoui , who defeated the third seed  Mannarino / Cazes-Carrère  in the quarter-finals,  Durban and Brechemier  had to battle for three sets to win.

After winning the first round  6/2 They saw their opponents come back into the game by winning the second set  7/5 .

Everything then came down to a nail-biting third set where neither team managed to gain a decisive advantage. It wasn't until the final tie-break that the fourth seed finally prevailed and secured the victory.  6/2 5/7 7/6 .

A victory achieved through sheer willpower, allowing Durban and Brechemier to reach the final after a tremendous battle.

An open final to follow on Padel MagTV

The final will therefore oppose the  2nd seed Iznasi / Rubio  ,  4th seed Durban / Brechemier .

Two pairs who showed great things throughout the weekend and who will have a great opportunity to go for the title.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
