No surprises at Reunion Padel Reunion Club this Saturday: the top four seeds held their own by qualifying for the semi-finals.

Wagner / Coulombeau in patterns

Second-seeded Simon Wagner and Alexis Coulombeau perfectly managed their quarter-final against the local pair Verdura / Cohen Bacrie (TS2). While the first set was hard-fought, with the Réunion team coming back to 5-4, the visitors quickly tightened up their game.

Coulombeau, in great form since his semi-final at the P2000 in Cabriès, showed particular sharpness, well supported by a solid Wagner on the volley. The result: 6/4 6/0, a demonstration in the second act and a smooth qualification.

Toppin / Molinero impress

In the other quarter, Alexandre Toppin and Nicolas Molinero (TS1) left Poitevin / Teysseydre (TS7) no chance. The southern duo quickly took the lead, scoring a string of winning points.

Special mention to Toppin, who was particularly inspired with his smash, blowing up the opposing defense. Only one break point to save in the entire match, a testament to his total mastery: 6/2 6/4.

The other seeded players are assured

In the other two quarters, Perez / Pichon de Bury (TS3) perfectly controlled their match against Landais / Charton (TS8), leaving no room for doubt with a clear 6/2 6/1 victory. For their part, the 4th seed, Moreau / Gutstein, had to work hard to get past the solid pairing of Grenier / Fede (TS6). Trailing by a set, they were able to reverse the trend thanks to a steely mentality: 4/6 7/5 6/1, a score which reflects the growing power of the favorites as the match progressed.

The semi-finals

Now it's time for the semi-finals, all scheduled for this Sunday, with matches worthy of a P1000:

  • Wagner / Coulombeau (TS2) vs Perez / Pichon de Bury (TS3)
  • Moreau / Gutstein (TS4) vs Molinero / Toppin (TS1)
Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
