Le P1500 MS Padel Vannes will have offered two very high level semi-finals this Sunday morning, with a lot of intensity, suspense… and even several match points saved.
At the end of the match, the final will ultimately pit the number 1 seed against Damien Bayard / Pierre Vincent at the top of the 3rd seed Simon Wagner / Tom Couturier .
Appointment from 14 p.m. live on Padel MagTV to follow this final which promises to be huge.
Bayard and Vincent were solid in the heat of the moment
In the first semi-final, the favorites Bayard / Vincent had to fight extremely hard against Norman Sanchez / Lucas Potel .
A victory of mental strength: 7 / 6 7 / 6 .
In this derby between Mind Padel Lyon et All In The exchanges were very close from beginning to end and neither team really managed to take control of the match.
But in the important moments, Bayard and Vincent showed once again why they were considered favorites for the tournament.
Stronger in the tie-breaks, they were able to use their experience to secure their place in the final.
Wagner and Couturier save match points again in a crazy match
The other semi-final between the 2nd seed Alexis Coulombeau / Arthaud Dumoulin and seed 3 Simon Wagner / Tom Couturier completely descended into madness.
After more than 2h30 of combat Wagner and Couturier prevailed after a suspenseful finish: 5/7 6/4 7/6 .
And the scenario is pretty crazy.
A first set for Coulombeau and Dumoulin
The first set was extremely close with a lot of breaks and re-breaks on both sides.
Tom Couturier struggled to get into his game and despite a very solid performance from Simon Wagner, the consistency of Alexis Coulombeau and Arthaud Dumoulin ultimately made the difference.
TS2 takes the first set: 7/5 .
Simon Wagner is gaining momentum
In the second round, the debates remained extremely close.
Each team gets four break points, but this time Wagner and Couturier convert their only opportunity.
Simon Wagner is clearly gaining momentum. The left-hander is doing a lot of damage with his smash, but also with his variations and drop shots.
With fewer unforced errors than their opponents, Wagner and Couturier leveled the match at one set apiece: 6/4 .
A completely unreal tie-break
The third set continued in the same vein with a huge battle between the two teams.
Opportunities to break exist on both sides but none are converted.
Heading towards a completely crazy tie-break.
And yet, Wagner and Couturier seem completely doomed: they are led 6/2 and must save… four match points.
But once again, they find the mental resources to survive.
Simon Wagner notably hit a magnificent winning drop shot, while Tom Couturier produced several huge points in the crucial moments. They saved another match point at 7-6, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1qYmlS_wWI, before finally securing the victory… 10 - 8 .
The day before, Wagner and Couturier had already saved three match points in the quarter-final against Jules Marie / Julien Motz .
Once again, they survive the mental battle.

A highly anticipated final at 14pm
The final will therefore pit:
- Damien Bayard / Pierre Vincent (TS1)
- à Simon Wagner / Tom Couturier (TS3)
A highly anticipated match between the tournament favorites and the weekend's most heroic team.
Appointment from 14 p.m. live on Padel MagTV .
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
