Alison Casalli De Lima and Dora Chamli were the surprise pair of these semi-finals of the P1500 PadelShot Lyon. Unsurprisingly, they were expected in the semi-final to continue their exploit and, why not, by knocking off the tournament's number 1 seed.

A quick first set

The outsiders completely missed their first set, letting Marie-Amélie and Jennifer dictate their game. The top seed played at a very high level, allowing them to logically dominate the first set, despite a nice response from Casalli De Lima / Chamli.

The first set, although close, ended fairly quickly (23 minutes) with a 6/3 favorites.

The awakening of outsiders

Although they were thought to have their backs to the wall, Alison Casalli De Lima and Dora Chamli were able to raise their level of play at the start of the second set, chaining games together and inflicting a double break on their opponents. Frustration and annoyance slowly began to show in the 1st seed, who was completely disillusioned.

Finally, the second set was just as quick as the first (also 23 minutes), but turned to the advantage of the other team: 6/1.

Suspense and twists

The first to achieve the break in the deciding set were Jennifer Denécheau and Marie-Amélie Dardaine. They even served for the match at 5/4, finally caught up by their opponents. This did not worry the seed 1 who recovered the break and once again served for the match.

This time, Marie-Amélie and Jennifer offered themselves three match points… each time defended by Dora and Alison who came back from very far away to snatch the tie-breaker.

After many twists and turns and unbearable suspense, Dora Chamli and Alison Casalli De Lima obtained their first match points at 6/4 in the tie break. The first is miraculously saved by the number 1 seed… but not the second.
