Tom Basso et Jeremy Robert (seeded 7) had a superb run at the P1500 PadelShot Saint-Etienne, concluded this Sunday with a victory in the final against Yanis Muesser et Quentin Ayuso (TS4) on the score of 6/3 4/6 7/5.
A finale full of twists and turns
From the start of the match, it is Jeremy Robert who took control of the game. Very solid, impressive on smashes, not prone to unforced errors, he truly carried his team. Basso, more discreet in the organization, perfectly left the keys to his partner in the important moments.
After winning the first set 6/3 thanks to their aggression and Robert's discipline, the roles reversed slightly in the second set. Taking advantage of a slight drop in Robert's form, Muesser and Ayuso raised their game and came back to within one set each, winning 6/4.
A third set under tension
The third set was tense. The two teams traded blows until the crucial 5-5 point. Quentin Ayuso, until now solid, is experiencing a terrible downturn.
Three unforced errors from Ayuso on his own serve give Basso and Robert a tiebreak.
Relentless, they did not let their chance pass them by: on their serve, they concluded the match 7/5, winning a well-deserved title.
Regularity rewarded
Beyond this final, Basso and Robert's journey throughout the tournament was remarkable:
- Victory only against those who had released the ts1, Paul Forichon and Lilian Fouré, in quarters (6/3 7/6)
- Comeback in the semi-final against Cancel / Guy de Chamisso after losing the first set (6/7 6/3 6/4)
On the final, the statistics are clear: 24 unforced errors for the winners against 52 faults for their opponents. Better management of important points made all the difference.

A deserved victory
Given the level of play they displayed throughout the competition and their ability to raise their level in the hot moments, Thomas Basso and Jérémy Robert fully deserve this title P1500 PadelShot Saint-Etienne, carried by a great Jérémy Robert in this final.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
