Au WinWin P2000 Padel Cabriès : the pair Marie maligo / Marie-Amelie Dardaine qualified for the final of the women's event. A few hours before the decisive match, the two players shared their feelings with humor and sincerity.
An almost historic final for Belgium
Journalist : We meet in Cabriès for this P2000 with the first finalists among the girls.
Marie maligo : No! But yes, a Belgian! There was already Justine Pysson who had played with Camille Sireix at Casa Padel. So, I'm the second to get a place in the final.
Marie-Amelie Dardaine : I say Marie Maligo, the MVP, without hesitation. She was monstrous with her outstretched lobes. She literally neutralized the opposing player. She has an exceptional touch on the ball. I'm more the finisher of the pair. It's Marie who constructs the stitch, and I finish it. She did most of the work.
A new partner in the final
Marie-Amelie Dardaine : So far, two wins and zero losses. I hope to make it three out of three in P2000 (already 2 wins in P2000)! I'm super happy to share this final with Marie.
The magic of the lobe signed Maligo
Journalist (Mario Cordero): Marie, let's talk a little about your lob technique. You can create perfect lobs with three centimeters of wrist movement. My students ask me how that's possible...
Marie : I don't really know... It's probably my idea wrist ! Luckily I have it, because I don't really have the legs (laughs). There has to be a quality somewhere!
Journalist : Well, you put one outside earlier...
Marie : Yes, well, just one (laughs)! But the others were in it!
Managing weak times
Journalist : You were leading 3-0 in the second set. Then there was a bit of a lull. What happened?
Marie : There was a little break, and I started overthinking. I thought, “We're doing well, so let's keep going!” But my mind wandered a bit. Luckily, even if we lost our serve, we were often able to regain theirs. We fought, and it paid off.
