After the cancellation of the P2000 of Toulouse Padel Club following government decisions to close covered sports clubs for a minimum period of at least 2 weeks, we feared that the trials of padel P2000 who followed take the same direction.

Fears that were confirmed by the voice of the manager padel of the French Tennis Federation, Stephane Berrafato :

The French Tennis Federation has decided to cancel the 2 P2000 events in Paris and Lille.

As you know, the health situation is deteriorating in the territory, forcing local authorities to take measures to limit the spread of the virus.

In view of this degradation, the entire North department is placed in a reinforced alert zone, which forces us to cancel the tournament scheduled for El Padel Club in Wambrechies on October 9, 10 and 11.

The Ile de France and in particular Paris and the inner suburbs are also placed in an enhanced alert zone, with restrictions on the use of covered rooms for a minimum period of 15 days. This decision, and the uncertainty of the following weeks, did not allow us to organize the tournament under the best possible conditions. Padel Horizon, in Sucy en Brie, on October 23, 24 and 25; also, we thank you for taking note of its cancellation.

The Federation, in responsibility, applies the prefectural and governmental instructions in the matter, as it always has done, this is why we will come back to you soon concerning the maintenance - or not - of the tournament of Mérignac scheduled for the beginning of December.

Given the current context, it is difficult to predict the future, however be aware that the FFT will do everything possible to relaunch the competition of Padel and P 2000 as soon as sanitary conditions allow.

Therefore, the test of El Padel Club de Wambrechies (Ligue Hauts-de-France) scheduled from October 9 to 11 and that of Padel Horizon de Sucy-en-Brie (Ile-de-France League) scheduled for October 23 to 25 are canceled.

If the Lille stage was in the period of two weeks of closure provided for by the prefecture, we would not necessarily expect such a rapid cancellation of the Paris stage in the new club of Padel horizon.

But the FFT certainly played the card of caution, especially since this is the second canceled stage. For the moment the Gironde stage is maintained. It is supposed to take place December 4-6 at the Big Padel in Mérignac (Ligue Nouvelle-Aquitaine). But here too, the FFT will come back on whether or not to maintain the stage depending on the sanitary conditions next November / December.
