From March 7 to 9, 2025, Mind Padel Lyon welcomes the second stage of the circuit P2000, with a particularly high level of competition. Many big French players will be present to try to impose themselves in this flagship tournament of the French circuit.

A highly contested men's tournament

It's hard not to consider Bastien Blanqué (French No. 2) and Johan Bergeron (French No. 4) as the big favorites. Accustomed to the circuit, they arrive with confidence after a semi-final at FIP Silver Rio Grande and the victory of Blanqué at the last P2000 of La Rochelle alongside Thomas Leygue. Bergeron, himself, had to bow out in the final… against Blanqué.

Behind them, Dylan Guichard (French No. 3) and Benoît Theard (French No. 17) form an intriguing pair. Guichard, a left-handed player and former French No. 2, joins forces with Theard, a right-handed player, who will probably have to play on the left for the occasion. A chemistry to watch.

Another solid duo, Damien Lozano and Pierre Perez Le Tiec, seeded 3, who have already proven their worth on the French circuit and by winning the P2000 Casa Padel last october.

Also pay attention to Maxime Forcin and Benjamin Tison (TS4), a pair that gets people talking. Tison, former French number 1, signs his return to competition after a year's absence and has already made an impression by winning the P1500 4Padel Bordeaux with Forcin. They could go far in this tournament.

Among outsiders, we find the young people Timéo Fonteny and Yoan Boronad (TS5). Same thing for Adrien Maigret and Jérôme Inzerillo (TS6), an experienced pair, capable of thwarting the top seeds.

Please note the presence of Maxime Moreau (French n°5) and Bilal Duprat (French n°67), seeded 13, as well as that of Cyril Hanouna, accompanied by the Italian Aris Patiniotis (world No. 51).

The return of a formidable duo among the ladies

The women's table is marked by the Return of Jessica Ginier and Lucile Pothier, which are considered to be big favorites. However, they are only seeded 5, which means they will have to face one of the Top four seeds from the quarter-finals.

La seeded 1, Laurine Bergaud and Jennifer Denecheau, arrives with confidence after a third place in the P1500 All In Country Lyon. Denecheau had won the P2000 Casa Padel last october alongside Marie-Amélie Dardaine.

En seeded 2, we find Marie-Amélie Dardaine and Camille Sireix, a pair who have been playing together since the end of 2024 and who are showing a good level.

En seeded 3, Melanie Ros and Deborah Alquier are part of serious outsiders. They reached the final of the P1500 All In Country Club Lyon, where they had bowed to Jessica Ginier and Lucie Vichier.

Finally, the seeded 4, Marie Maligo and Charlyne Tonda. Tonda will not play this time with Alexise Duchêne but with Maligo, a pair that could surprise.

Other pairs remain potentially dangerous. Laura Clergue and Nada Majdoubi, recent second in the interclub championships with Stade Toulousain, form a experienced pair. The seeded 9, Fiona Ligi and Louise Bahurel, could also play the party pooper after finishing finalists of the last P2000 in La Rochelle, where they had bowed to Léa Godallier and Charlotte Soubrie.

Also note the exceptional presence of Alizé Cornet, which benefits from a wild card for this tournament. The former French tennis star will join forces with Vincianne Remy.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
