Very bad news for the gathering in Perpignan selectable in Pade Senior French Teamsl which had been started this Wednesday August 19. The P2000 tournament which was to start on Friday is logically canceled.

During the gathering in Perpignan of the players who can be selected for the French teams, a player has tested positive for Covid 19, while the 1st welcome meeting for participants.

After immediate identification, "contact persons" were asked to isolate themselves in their hotel. At the initiative of the FFT and in agreement with the ARS, the meeting, supposed to take place today and tomorrow, but also the tournament, which was due to start tomorrow, August 21, has been canceled, taking into account the number of “contact persons” concerned.

It is important for the FFT, in accordance with its values, to fight responsibly against the risks of contamination, in strict compliance with its health protocol, and to ensure the fairness of the tournament which would have been deprived of a large number of its male and female competitors temporarily in solitary confinement.

Moreover, note that the Mas club, the host of the competition, has absolutely not touched by this case. Alain Henri, the manager of the club confirms it: ” No player has set foot at the club".

A very important message which must avoid any confusion between COVID-19 and the club.

The next tournament will take place from September 11 to 13 in Port-Marly at the Club des Pyramides. The event is for the moment maintained and no one is considering its cancellation. On the contrary !
