The coach of the French men's team, Pablo Ayma, gave his analysis of the training camp carried out this week at the Club du Mas in Perpignan, three months before the next 2025 European Padel Championships. Between a good atmosphere, a high level of play and intensity, the Spanish technician already knows that the future selection of the eight French players will not be an easy task.
A very successful internship at the Club du Mas
“The internship went very well,” says Pablo Ayma. "All the players gave their all during these three days of intensive training »
The framework of Mas Club , in Perpignan, was particularly appreciated. “The welcome was excellent, with outdoor and indoor tracks. You can tell that the club is used to hosting large groups. We were able to eat and dine on site every day, in very good conditions. The fact that the hotel is only five minutes away made it possible to optimize each day »
A top-notch management team
The coach also insists on the importance of coaching. The energy of the group was excellent , with a lot of involvement, compromise and collective spirit »
He also welcomes the team formed around him: “Working with Alexia Dechaume, Yann Auradou , and Thomas Leygue , who couldn't play due to injury but helped us as a coach, is a real luxury."
Another key element: the presence of Cris, the physiotherapist of the team. "She really helped the players recover every day after demanding sessions."
A consistent level and surprises
On the sporting side, the observed level was very homogeneous , which complicates the task of the selector. "We were surprised by the proximity of the levels between the young players , sometimes very recent, and the most experienced. Mentioning only two players would be unfair, because all showed a very good level »
Pablo Ayma emphasizes that this internship was crucial for measuring everyone's potential:
"We will now have to decide on the list of 8 players. The internship allowed us to see which associations worked best."
Tournaments still to be observed before the final list
Until the publication of the official list of selected ones , the Blues still in the running will have to continue to prove themselves:
“Several tournaments are coming up in the coming weeks. We will carefully observe all French players in competition to see how they evolve."
Pablo Ayma assures us: recent performances, current dynamics and complementarities in pairs will play a decisive role in building the French men's team who will participate in the 2025 European Padel Championships .
