At only 21 years old,  paul cardona  has already established himself as one of the important faces of padel. The Spanish player, now well established in the elite, returned in an interview given to SPORTS on his rapid rise and his ambitions.

A meteoric rise thanks to Paquito

Cardona does not hide the fact that his career took a turn after the call from  Paquito Navarro , who decided to bet on him last year. “This opportunity changed my life. It made me climb the rankings, gave me visibility and allowed me to take a step forward.”

The Augsburger Experiment and Separation

Alongside  Leo Augsburg , Cardona formed the famous “Carburger” duo, capable of beating world numbers 1, 2 and 3. But the adventure ended after the Argentinean decided to join Martín Di Nenno. A break that Pablo experienced without hard feelings:

“Leo did things right, he told me straight. I understood that, and we still have a great relationship.”

Experiences and a clear goal

After testing several associations, including one with  Juan Tello , Cardona will now share the track with  Gonza Alfonso  from Milan P1. A considered choice: “I have already played with him in Pro Padel League and I felt very comfortable. I believe that together we can beat anyone.”

Always higher

Despite his outburst, Cardona remains grounded. He refuses to consider himself “already successful” and always looks forward. His obsession remains the same:

“My goal is to enter the Master Final. And in five or ten years, to be world number one.”

An ambitious speech, like a player who, despite his young age, assumes his ambitions.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
