Le padel, a team sport ?

Le padel is it a team sport? A particularly important question today. Because if the Ministry of Sports and the French Tennis Federation consider that it is a collective sport, the padel cannot be performed before June 22.

A complicated question which we will not really answer directly. But Arnaud Saurois, Associate Lecturer, University of Poitiers points out to us that “le padel is not one of the sports considered as a team sport if we are to believe the official government document : GUIDE TO SPORTS WITH DELAYED RESUME".

Obviously, even if we try to keep a step back, we logically want a return to normal for the clubs of padel as soon as possible. And in this official document, no trace of padel in “team sports”. Note, however, that there are very many team sports which have not been included in this document, probably because they are “minor” sports.

However, our European neighbors did not wait for us to take over the padel at 4.

The decision will certainly be difficult to make. However, the speech of the 1st Ministeris intended to be very positive and optimistic. So let's keep our fingers crossed!
