In most clubs in France, the pitches padel are built with windows. A new generation construction, incorporating the characteristics of the best golf courses padel to the world of WPT. But why not use a land with walls? What are the differences ?

Today it is clearly highlighted that the glazed ground is the top in term of construction last generation, allowing the spectators to see what is happening on the ground. But apart from that, what are the differences with a walled land?

The game

The bounce on a window is slightly different than on a wall. The hook is not the same. A window does not have the same roughness as a wall.

humidity

One of the big window problems. In some areas, even if it is not raining, the humidity in the air makes it difficult to play. padel most of the day because the ball slips. This problem does not arise with the wall.

the confinement

Play on a field of padel can be likened to being locked in a cage. The fact of playing on a glazed ground slows down this feeling by allowing the sun to enter the ground and especially to see what is happening around, which is not the case for a walled ground.

the maintenance

A wall, if it has been well made, will require very little maintenance unlike windows that will have to be cleaned frequently to remove the traces deposited by the hands of the players or to erase marks marks of palas. Also the fasteners of the windows to their support will have to be checked frequently to avoid the possible breaks.

The breakage

On the side of the windows, between bad maintenance and possible accidents due to blows from the players, breakage is a very possible outcome. Although clubs are insured (we wish) for the breakage of the windows, the change can take several days or weeks. A wall does not pose as many problems.

Advertising

One of the advantages of windows is visibility. Because of its transparency, it is possible to make the space profitable by depositing advertisements of partners of the club. Side wall, this operation is almost impossible and unattractive for advertisers.

The final word

My heart swings between glass and wall. At almost the same construction cost, the wall has advantages in terms of resistance and playing time. For its part, the windows are used in the padel modern and are more show-oriented. Only you, the project leaders, will have the fairest opinion about your club.
