The place of padel in the Doha bid

The “Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC)” chose to capitalize on the power of sport in the social development of a country to convince the jury.

The social virtues of padel are fully compatible with the program Sport for Life of the QOC, and this is why the latter decides to organize padel to promote his idea.

From October 27 to 31, the QOC organized a tournament padel au Al Sadd Sports Club. The idea was to allow athletes to continue to practice an activity in complete safety, despite the coronavirus crisis.

The importance of getting these games

This invitation phase is very special, because it opposes the two rival Gulf countries. In recent years, this rivalry has been felt in sport in the organization of international events, or in the takeover of large structures in Western sport.

Riyadh vs Doha. It is the duel for obtaining the Asian Games 2030. Obtaining the latter is therefore capital for the two countries which want to prove their superiority in the Middle East. The means to achieve this objective are therefore increased tenfold, and the padel benefits.
