Le padel is in a phase of significant growth globally. Countries like Italy, Sweden, or the Netherlands gradually become countries of padel.

In Qatar, this sport enters a new dimension: focus on the Gulf countries.

A dazzling arrival

This growth of padel was unexpected in Qatar, but theEmir Tamim bin Hamad Al Zani fell in love with the padel. When such an influential Emir with such significant financial capacity gets involved in something, we know things can change very quickly in Qatar.

Two years ago, the padel was non-existent in the Persian Gulf. When former professional tennis player Al Zani discovered the padel, he decides to inject funds into the construction of three clubs in Doha.

The first world events

The Worlds of padel 2020 was due to be held in Qatar in November, but have been postponed due to the health crisis.

Even if this event cannot be held, Qatar shows its desire to become a reference country in the padel World. Many events should take place in the magnificent Qatari infrastructure in the coming years.

Spaniards for technical knowledge

As we have seen with football in Qatar, it is not enough to build infrastructure to learn to play a sport.

Emir Al Zani therefore called on three Spaniards: coach Manu Martin, player Marta Talavan, and player David Fernandéz.

Their role within the Club Padel Doha is to boost the growth of this sport by providing all the technical and tactical knowledge. They have been in close contact with the future national team that will represent Qatar at the Worlds.

Qatar becomes a new asset for the credibility of the padel globally.
