They are not necessarily called the Marathons padel, but these tournaments organized on a evening are full box. Why does it work so well?

Organizing a tournament is never easy. It is necessary to know the target (towards which players to orientate), to choose its period so that it does not coincide with another tournament of a neighboring club, to do with the number of courts of the club, to count with the weather forecast when the slopes are outdoor, and above all, do with the availability of each.

Unlike other sports like tennis, where we see tournaments that are organized over one or even two weeks, at padel tournaments are generally held over a weekend, from Friday to Sunday. A different organization, intense, but which ensures the presence of the players and necessarily a better atmosphere.

But, to make it even more condensed, there are the Marathons of padel. Evening tournaments, organized over a few hours. These first tournaments in France were organized near Nîmes.

So what should you know before embarking on the organization of such a tournament?

  • First, you must have a sufficient number of tracks (minimum 4)
  • Then you must limit the number of pairs to double the number of courts
  • Players must chain matches even in case of defeat to start and finish all at the same time
  • The format must be adapted in order to control the time; matches in 2 winning sets are not the best format, especially at the start of the tournament

The marathons of padel are really a great experience for both the players and the organizers. During these tournaments a great atmosphere is created, because in the end, everyone played the same number of matches.
