Snowshoes padel are small technological gems and it is not always easy to navigate this technical vocabulary. Today let's talk about carbon.

As the mousse, the coating that makes up the faces of your pala is one of the elements to take into consideration when making your choice. First of all know that even if carbon is very present today on snowshoes, it is not compulsory to have it on the faces.

  • Carbon or fiberglass?

Indeed, some prefer the fiberglass, more elastic, and which therefore generates more ball exit and comfort. This is the case of Miguel Lamperti on his ML 10, whose faces are covered with aluminized fiberglass, slightly less flexible than a conventional fiberglass, but still harder than a normal fiberglass.

If on the other hand you prefer a more rigid touch, for more power, but also durability, you will need to orient yourself towards the carbon fiber, a more resistant material and also lighter than fiberglass. There are also rackets that combine carbon and fiberglass for more versatility. This is the case for example of the Head Delta Hybrid, which also benefits from the addition of graphene, a very light and resistant material.

  • Carbon 1k, 3k, 6k, 12k, 15k, 18k…?

New generation snowshoes incorporate braided carbon : lighter and more resistant than conventional carbon. Depending on its number of filaments, it will have different properties. So the 18k carbon, or 18 filaments, which can be found for example on the Kelme Olimpica, it will be very rigid and will allow you to hit harder.

In comparison, the carbon 1k, present on the Bullpadel Vertex 02 LTD, will be lighter and will give more maneuverability to your pala. In addition, it will be less rigid so you will necessarily benefit from less power, but more comfort and absorption of vibrations.

Again, your choice will depend on what you are really looking for. Today, brands are always offering more versatile snowshoes, Royal Padel M27 and its 3k carbon, the Dunlop Galactica and its 6k carbon, the Kuikma Hybrid Hard and its 12k carbon, or the Black Crown Piton 8.0 and its 15k carbon mixed with fiberglass. You are therefore spoiled for choice!
