Le September 2020 padel ranking has been updated by the French Tennis Federation. A new classification which takes into account the 10 best results over the last 12 months (+ the COVID period).

For the ladies, if the pair Collombon / Ginier remains the first French pair logic, it is followed by the pair Vandaele / Soubrié. Only 20 points separate them. The reason: The number of tournaments taken into account. 7 for the champions of France, and 10 for the second French pair in the national ranking.

Note in passing that the pair Godallier / Clergue, winner of the first P2000 of the year at the Pyramides club is assimilated 2nd pair French as well.

On the men's side, Adrien Maigret and Benjamin Tison become the number one French in the French classification and thus pass in front of Bastien Blanqué in number of points. While Johan Bergeron is assimilated 2nd French.

Strangely, the French Tennis Federation chooses the best ranking between that of the FFT (national ranking) and the world ranking (ranking of the World Padel Tour). This is the reason why Jérémy Scatena was assimilated 1 and Johan Bergeron 2.

A process which can therefore create some inconsistencies in the French ranking among the best French players.

A strangeness besides to see the two champions of France with for one an assimilation and for the other a direct integration by the points? If we follow the reasoning of the FFT, no. Bastien Blanqué, which is at the race n ° 1 French but 5th in the ranking of World Padel Tour is therefore 2nd French in terms of number of points in the French ranking. It is his French ranking which was therefore privileged compared to his ranking of the WPT which is in the process blocked because of the COVID-19 crisis.

A little humor: know that in the rankings, do not confuse Jonathan Bergeron from the ARA league (Auvergne Rhone-Alpe) classified in the 1531st French place and which counts a padel tournament with our champion of France!

Finally Jérémy Scatena is assimilated French number one because it is the French number one on the World Padel Tour. With his performances with Benjamin Tison during the last P2000 at the Pyramides club and on the professional circuit, we could say that this is normal.
