The first meeting of the Bordeaux shock took place last Wednesday, bringing together two of the city's sports institutions: the Girondins of Bordeaux and Bordeaux Boxers . Organized in a friendly and festive atmosphere. Padel33 Bruges, this event marks the beginning of a series of sporting confrontations around padel, a rapidly growing discipline.
A careful organization
The players were welcomed from 17:45 p.m. with a welcome pack including in particular a club sweatshirt After a collective warm-up at 18:15 p.m., the first match began at 18:20 p.m.
Three matches, three victories for the Girondins
The first match was between the Girondins, Hervé Bugnet (former striker trained at the club, having played in particular for Montpellier, Le Havre and Châteauroux) and Pierre Ducasse (midfielder also trained at the Girondins, French champion 2009), at Kevin Dusseau et Maxim Lamarche , defenders of the Bordeaux Boxers. Clear victory: 6 / 1 6 / 1 for footballers.
The second confrontation saw Jimmy Briand , former French international (more than 130 professional goals), associated with Jerome Dauba , former coach of the Girondins women's team, to face Loïk Poudrier (captain of the Boxers) and Aina Rambelo . A new victory for the Girondins: 6 / 1 6 / 0 .
The third match highlighted two renowned goalkeepers: Grégory Coupet (former French international, goalkeeping coach at Bordeaux) and Fabien Farnolle (ex-pro and Beninese international), opposed to Arthur Boie et Lucas Lapeyre , members of the Boxers sales team. Here again, the Girondins won 6 / 1 6 / 1 .
A one-way meeting, but in a great atmosphere
Final score: 3-0 for the Girondins Despite the defeat, the Boxers enjoyed this introduction to the practice of padel. The meeting took place in a warm atmosphere, with the presence of Boxers supporters , of their full staff , as well as journalists from Sud-Ouest , who came to immortalize the event and interview the players. Two interviews were conducted on site: one with Grégory Coupet , the other with Maxim Lamarche .
A promising partnership between clubs
At the end of the matches, a partnership has been formalized between the padel club and the Boxers, who will now come more regularly to play padel as part of their training and internal events.
A festive evening until the end of the night
From 21 p.m., participants and guests gathered at the club house around a dinner aperitif . The DJ mazal provided the musical atmosphere until midnight. The exchanges between players, staff and club regulars contributed to creating a friendly and appreciated moment for all. Nearly a fifty spectators were present to follow the matches and share the evening.
On group photo , we find all the participants as well as the organizers of the event: Michel Ludwig (founder of SquashBad33 and Padel33) Fabien Grignet (general manager), and Margaux Randjbar (organizer of the meeting), who held in her hands the wooden trophy . The latter will be given during the last meeting scheduled for June , before being put back into play each year.
The evening ended around 2 am in the morning , in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. New links were created between the two clubs, strengthening the sporting and collaborative spirit that surrounds this event.

La next meeting will take place next Wednesday and will oppose the Girondins at Union Bordeaux-Bègles (UBB) From 18 hrs , at the club Padel33 from Bruges .
La grand finale , scheduled for June (date to be confirmed), will crown the winning team of the Bordeaux shock 2024 .
