We believed in the feat. Carried by a  Juan Lebrón on fire , the world number 3 had launched their semi-final perfectly against Tapia and Coello. Heroic defenses, big smashes, total anticipation: for half an hour,  The Lobo eclipsed everyone on the Chatrier . Alongside a diligent Stupa, the Spanish-Argentine pair quickly led  5/2 . Opposite Tapia is a little nervous.

But against the world's number ones, every drop in form comes at a heavy price. And when Lebrón began to get annoyed and communication with Stupa diminished, Tapia and Coello took advantage of the gap.  Break at 5/3, then five games in a row  : the golden boys completely reversed the situation led by a great Arturo Coello today (23 winning point errors, 3 unforced errors) to pocket the first set 7/5.

Lebrón and Stupa go out

On the bench, the contrast was stark:  silence and frustration  On the Lebrón/Stupa side, intensity and cohesion from Tapia/Coello. In the second set, the scenario repeated itself. More solid, more consistent, the world number 1s imposed their rhythm. Despite a few close points, they wrapped things up with a  6/2 authoritarian , with a symbolic match point: a disillusioned return from Stupa sent straight into the window.

A third Parisian final for Coello / Tapia

With this victory, Tapia and Coello offer themselves a  third consecutive final at Roland-Garros Once again, they showed why they dominate the world of padel: an incredible ability to turn bad situations around and to unfold once the match is in hand.

And for Lebrón / Stupa?

This defeat, however, left its mark. After flirting with a triumph, the pair foundered, undermined by frustrations and a glaring lack of communication.  No first Major final together , and above all further proof that the association is struggling to find stability at key moments.
The question is now on everyone's lips:  Is this match one too many for the Lebrón/Stupa duo?
