After a one-month break due to a  injury  With an ankle injury, Frenchwoman Camille Sireix is making her return to the slopes at the FIP Bronze Curitiba in Brazil. She will be accompanied for the occasion by  Dutch Rosalie Van Der Hoek  (116th), an unprecedented association for the  5th French player  and 164th in the world.

 His lifelong coach

Behind Camille Sireix's progress, one name keeps coming up:  Patrick Tachet , his trainer since  the age of 13 At 59 years old, the one who still officiates at  Reuil Athletic Club  in Rueil-Malmaison confides: “Despite 40 years of career as a coach, Camille is undoubtedly the player who has left the biggest impression on me, the most beautiful human adventure of my career as a coach”.

It is thanks to him that the  young woman  discovered the  paddle  :

“I had shoulder pain that prevented me from serving well in tennis. My coach then suggested a game of padel. The first time, I didn't like it, but as I played tournaments, I loved the friendly atmosphere,” she says.

 A solid tennis training

Before padel, Camille Sireix played in a  other racket sport  : tennis, with a ranking in the  Top 500 in doubles  on the WTA tour.
A major asset according to his coach:
“She already had a comprehensive technical and physical background. When she decided, at 25, to dedicate herself fully to padel, she progressed very quickly. She was already training like a pro.”

 An evolution towards attack

Camille Sireix, once very defensive, had to  reinvent your playing style  to meet the requirements of modern padel:
“She made few mistakes, played very cleanly, with very precise lobs. Today, she plays serve-and-volley, attacking her opponents more. She has transformed her game enormously,” emphasizes Patrick Tachet.

A player invested and focused on her partner

What characterizes Camille is also her  professionalism  and his team spirit. His coach insists:
“She always commits fully to whatever she does. She loves to make her partner shine.”

In France, she has often been seen playing alongside Marie-Amélie Dardaine (231st). But for this Brazilian tournament, she will therefore form a  unpublished international pair  with the Dutchwoman Van Der Hoek.

 A well-oiled long-distance relationship

Despite Patrick Tachet's inability to attend all the tournaments in person, the connection remains strong:
“We communicate every day via WhatsApp, and I watch his matches online. We're lucky enough to be able to talk every day, despite the distance.”

Men's padel is evolving with more play  aggressive  and Camille Sireix has a card to play in women's padel: "To beat the best players, she won't be able to constantly play with the glass. Her aggressive and physical game is more than just a game changer. It reminds me of Carla Touly (84th). Camille must keep her identity."
