Tensions were running high at Bordeaux's central stadium during the second men's semi-final. 5/3 in the tie-break of the second set in favor of Tello and Di Nenno, the latter seemed in a good position to go for a third round... but a contested arbitration decision turned everything upside down.

As Martín Di Nenno serves to move closer to a deciding set, Galán blocks a ball at the netThe action, considered very limited, provokes the explosion of the Argentinian player. He first reproaches a area invasion, then asserts that Galán physically prevents him from carrying out his move. Furious, Di Nenno calls out to the chair umpire:

« Who's the referee on the video? What's the name of the one watching the camera? Tell him I can't do the move. »

But despite his protests, the decision falls: the point is awarded to Galán and Chingotto, who came back into the game before finally winning 8-6 in the tie-break, validating their ticket for a new final against Coello and Tapia.

After the meeting, Di Nenno shared his discontent on social media, relaunching the discussion around the use (and limits) of video refereeing on the circuit Premier Padel.

This blow should not, however, make us forget the level displayed by the Tello / Di Nenno pair. Just three weeks after Martin sprained his ankle in Rome, Cristian Gutiérrez's protégés showed that they are returning to their best level, with a very solid performance despite the defeat.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
