Alix Collombon et Araceli Martinez confide in the FIP Finals Grand Bourg about their performance, their management of key moments and their perspectives for the rest of the competition.

Q: Do you have any idea how many break points were saved in this match?
Alix Collombon: Not exactly, but I know there are two games in the second set where we are behind. 0 - 40 on our serve, and we win them. These moments, especially at the beginning of the second set, are crucial. If we lose them, it can quickly turn against us.
Araceli Martinez: Yes, you have to pay attention to every point, because with rules like the Golden Point, everything can change very quickly.

Q: What do you think of the Punto de Oro, precisely?
Alix Collombon: I find it modern and adapted to the expectations of the viewer. Since women's matches are often long, it adds spice and spectacle. That said, as a player, it's sometimes a lottery. But for the visual aspect of the sport, it's a good choice.

Q (in Spanish): Araceli, what do you think of Alix as a partner?
Araceli Martinez: The truth is that Alix is one of the best partners I've ever had. She gives me confidence on the court, and we have a great bond. It's easy to play with her. We can tell each other the good and the bad things without any problem, and that helps us to improve.
Alix Collombon: Araceli said I was the best partner she's had so far (laughs). More seriously, she appreciates the stability I bring and our ability to always seek to improve together.

Q: How do you deal with tense moments on the field?
Alix Collombon: Sometimes you have to shake yourself up a bit. For example, at one point I felt like we were lacking intensity. I told Araceli: “Either we get moving, or I’m going to get angry.” The good thing about her is that she always reacts positively in those moments. We both know that it’s to give the best of ourselves.

Q: Araceli, will you continue playing together next year?
Araceli Martinez: Yes, it is confirmed. We decided to continue together, because our project is working well. We are getting better results and we are progressing as a team. There is no reason to change.
Alix Collombon: We are on the same wavelength. The complicity and the results are there, so we continue this beautiful adventure.

Q: Tomorrow you play against the players who eliminated Léa. What are your expectations?
Alix Collombon: It will be a big match, for sure. We hope to continue this momentum and go even further in the tournament.
Araceli Martinez: Yes, it will be on the Central, and we will give everything to get through this.
