La first women's semi-final du Qatar Major Premier Padel 2025 opposes the number 7 seed, Alejandra Salazar and Veronica Virseda, to pair no. 2 of the table, Gemma Triay and Delfina BreaAn unprecedented duel at this level, which promises a confrontation full of challenges between players with very different trajectories.
Salazar and Virseda aim for their first final together
The Spanish-Spanish pair has not yet never won a title on the circuit Premier Padel. A victory today would be synonymous with first Major final for the pair. It is also their best result of the season, equaling their previous semi-finals in 2024.
- Alejandra Salazar, a true legend of women's padel, has 52 tracks to his record, namely the absolute record in the women's category. She competed three finals in Premier Padelincluding two outside.
- Verónica Virseda, for his part, has only reached one final on this circuit, in indoor.
- Interesting fact: Salazar has not beat Gemma Triay or Delfina Brea only in Major. A sign?
Triay and Brea in search of a fourth consecutive title
The dynamics are totally different for Gemma Triay and Delfina Brea, currently undefeated since February 16, the date of their only defeat of the year in the semi-final in Riyadh. Since then, they have chained three consecutive titles : Gijon, Cancun and Miami.
- Gemma Triay is the the only player still in the running to have already played in a final in Doha, and above all, the the only one to have won a Major with two different partners : Paula Josemaría in Italy (2023) and Claudia Fernandez in Mexico (2024). She could today become the first to do so with a third.
- If she wins, Gemma would reach the 20 finals in Premier Padel, equaling Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría.
- Delfina Brea, for his part, has not never won a Major, but she is one of two players (along with Bea González) to have played five consecutive finalsIf she wins today, she would equal that record with Gemma.
- Also note: on their 10 titles each, alone 3 for Gemma et 4 for Delfi were obtained outdoors, which adds a factor of uncertainty to this semi-final in Qatar.
A clash between experience and confidence
Between a Salazar ultra-experienced and a Virseda ambitious, facing a pair Triay/Brea full dynamics of victories, this semi-final is announced uncertain and captivatingA match where personal and collective stakes could make all the difference.
