Obviously, when the first four pairs of the circuit are absent, there is more room for the others. Nevertheless, we are seeing some nice surprises in Gironde!

The biggest since the start of the tournament, perhaps the victory of José Diestro / Guillermo Collado, a pair formed for the tournament following the absence of Pablo Lijo, Diestro's usual teammate, against Sanyo Gutiérrez and Maxi Sanchez (TS4). So, Collado, currently 143rd in the FIP ranking, will play his very first career quarter-final tomorrow!

Then, how can we not mention this pretty crazy pair composed of Pablo Cardona and Lucas Bergamini. Here again, this is a pair created especially for this Gironde P2. Positioned on the left, Bergamini, despite his 65 meter height, is doing very well. Finally he does the job of a right-wing player alongside the overpowering Cardona. We are therefore dealing with a kind of reversed “Chingotto / Galan”, all things considered obviously. And it works because tomorrow the 7th seed will be in the quarter-finals.

Fallers of Arroyo / Alonso (TS6) in the previous round, Miguel Benitez and Alvaro Cepero qualified for a very first quarter-final together this morning by defeating Fernandez / Martinez (6/4 6/1). The players from the qualifications are enjoying the fast conditions in Bordeaux and tomorrow they will try to create a big blow against Ruiz / Gonzalez (TS3) in a 100% Andalusian clash!

Will we be entitled to other little sensations in this P2?
