Léa Godallier will make its big return to the slopes, in a little over a week from now on, alongside Charlotte Soubrié in Bordeaux. However, if we can't wait to see the two French women play side by side in this tournament, it was not certain that it could be a long-term project.

This was also confirmed for the Premier Padel Italy Major where the French number 2 will be associated with a local player, born in Rome: Giorgia Marchetti.

So, Giorgia Marchetti, it is no less than two bronze medals, with the Italian team, during the world championships in Dubai in 2021 and Doha in 2022 and a gold medal, next to Carolina orsi at the 2023 European Games in Krakow.

This season, the Italian player did not achieve a lot of results on the circuit, but reached the round of 16 for the first time in Riyadh. Associated with Sara Pujals (former partner ofAlix Collombon) since the start of the season, they have only reached the final table four times, including that of Santiago, where they lost in two sets against Marta Ortega et Vero Virseda, despite a very good battle in the second set.

Another interesting fact to note: Giorgia Marchetti is a left-wing player, with a lot of punch. Therefore, at the Italy Major it is not impossible to see Léa Godallier return to the right, which could have been the case when she played alongside Araceli Martinez. Namely, historically, the Tahitian is a right-wing player.

It is therefore a very interesting tandem that we should see evolving in Italy. Especially since, unlike Bordeaux, Léa Godallier and Giorgia Marchetti will not go through the qualifying table and will constitute the 26th pair in the main draw (unless abandonment in front of them before the tournament).

For now, we still don't know if this new association is made to last over time... but we should find out soon enough!

Gwenaelle Souyri

It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
