For the moment, nothing officialHowever, behind the scenes, a significant regulatory change has gone relatively unnoticed. International Federation of Padel (FIP) has recently updated its regulatory framework regarding the padel ball color.
Until now, the balls used in international competition were strictly yellow or whiteThis restriction has just been lifted. From 2026The FIP now authorizes all colors of balls, on one clear condition:
the ball must contrast sufficiently with the color of the track in order to ensure optimal visibility for players, referees and television broadcasting.
A door ajar… but still no action taken.
This regulatory change therefore paves the way for bullets blue, pink, green, or even purple within the framework of FIP competitions and, potentially, on the circuit Premier Padel.
However, No tournament has yet officially announced the use of a ball other than the traditional yellow ball. And barring any surprises, the first tests Premier Padel as well as first FIP Tour tournaments should keep a yellow ball, at least initially.

The brands have already taken the lead.
While the circuits remain cautious, The brands, for their part, anticipated. Of pink padel balls — and other colors — are already commercially available. This is not a new phenomenon: some players have long enjoyed playing with different colored balls, whether for reasons of visual comfort, benchmarks in play or simply from personal preference.
The pink ball, for example, already exists on the market and is sometimes used outside of official competitions, particularly in training or during promotional events.
This is a topic that also raises questions about the image of padel.
Beyond the regulatory aspect, the question of ball color also touches on...visual identity of padelTennis has already experimented with different colored balls depending on the surface and context. Could padel follow a similar path, at least temporarily, for certain specific tournaments or special events?

What if we imagined the padel of tomorrow?
To go further, let your imagination run wild. If regulations allow, certain associations ball / track could offer an original visual rendering, while respecting visibility constraints:
- Pink ball on dark blue runway
- Blue ball on light grey or sand track
- White ball on deep green trail
- Fluorescent yellow ball on black track for maximum contrast indoors
- Purple ball on light blue runfor event or nighttime tournaments

Choices that could strengthen the television readabilitybut also to offer a specific visual signature at certain tournaments, without disrupting the essence of the game.
